21 Years Young

As I promised a little while ago, and as I would have done if I'd had internet at the time, tonight I'm doing a post about my 21st Birthday Party held back in August of 2010. It was held at this old Victorian house that nowadays is used as a conference centre. I was joined by my closest friends and family for an afternoon high tea party with the theme 'Anachronisms'.

The photos are curtsey of very talented Rodney Shrimpton, my mother, mein Bruder, Philip and Gracie too. Actually, there were a shitload of people with my camera that day, so if I don't credit I don't know :P

[Warning: This is quite a pic-heavy post!]

The beautiful Victorian building!

Finally the key...To my chastity belt :P

The party was as wonderful as I'd hoped; I'd been planning to have a tea party for ages. I had a smaller and crappier version for my 19th in one of the local parks here, but this was just perfect. Unfortunatly, quite a few people couldn't make it. However, the most important people in my life came and I just wanted to thank you guys very much for making it such a special day for me! Love you all!

As to my readers that may not necessarily be in my close circle of friends over here in Aus, I hope you enjoyed the post - it took forever to find all those photos and I'm sure it also took forever to load the page :P

Thanks for reading my lovelies!

p.s. 24 followers, hurrah!

Over and out,

Covetting this, covetting that

Hello my lovely readers (all 21 one of you now, how exciting!)

Sorry I have been a little slack for the last week or so but unfortunately I've been quite unwell, to the point where I've had to miss work, which sucks because I currently trying to save up for a new SLR and just to have general savings for when I move to Melbourne later in the year.

So, speaking of the things I want to buy, because I'm not really up to getting around taking photos today, as I'm currently bed ridden, I thought I'd show you all a few things I'm currently coveting, and in most cases must avoid in the name of saving...Ergh

First and foremost, the beautiful 5D MKII *drools*

Images from Google.

It took me forever to decide which body I wanted out of this or the 7D but I'm fairly confident I've made my decision now. Just can't go past that sensor.

This lovely taffeta dress can be found here at Steampunk Threads and is something I've had my eye on for quite a while. Unfortunately it is a little pricey and something I can't justify at the present time.
I do love the subtle green pearlescent colour though and the modest neckline and general style about it.

I did actually buy a pair of bloomers from Steampunk Threads last year that I have yet to wear out/ in a photoshoot. When I get better I'll do a post on them.

Another little 0bject I'm hoping to own is this set of Sherlock Holmes dramatic audiobooks from the BBC; found here on Amazon. I came across them when my mum downloaded a few for me to listen to at work and they're just the best audiobooks I've ever listened to. It's like a play or a movies for your ears!

I've also been looking around for a good pair of epaulets, but I haven't really been able to find any. There were (emphasis or were) these on the Gallery Serpentine website, but I think they must have been sold for they don't seem to be there now.

I didn;t really have a jacket to attach them to anyway, but they are awfully nice.

I'm also getting a little fed up with Louise Black, waiting for news of my corset. She never replied to any of my emails until the beginning of last week when I (in a very subtle way and as polity as I could) threatened to leave negative feedback. I heard back from her straight away, saying that the corset would be posted by the end of the week and here it is a week later and it's still not listed as 'sent' and once again I've heard nothing from the email I sent her 3 days ago. Mind you this is 5 weeks after the 'at the latest' date for the corset to be received by.

Sigh. So, I recommend, at this point in time to not buy from her. As nice as her corsets probably are, and hopefully mine shall be, if I ever receive it!

Okay well I think I need more sleep in order to help me recover faster, so I'll sign out now friends.

Toodles!

Versatility

But not at the moment, as The Ultimate Goth Guide has given me The Versatile Blogger Award! Eeep! Thank you so much! :D I've never received an award for blogging before, in fact until today I was quite ignorant as to the existence of blogger awards :P

So the rules for this prestigious honour are as follows:
  • Thank & Link back to the person who gave you the award [Check]
  • Answer 10 questions [Prepare yourselves for verbal diarrhoea :P]
  • Pass it along to 7 blogs you've recently discovered and enjoy [If I have 7...Hmm]
  • Leave your recipients a note, telling them about the award.
-----------------------------------------
Why did you create this blog?

Well my friend Grace suggested it might be a nice way to pass the time as I was a little depressed about having to move back to the sticks. She kind'a glorified the idea a bit (not that I'm complaining at all - I love blogging!) and yeah, said that if I got popular enough I might get sponsorship from Gallery Serpentine or something (my favourite shop), which yeah I see now is a little unlikely, but I don't regret a thing :)

Besides, it's a nice release for my humongous ego :P

What kind of blogs do you follow?

Mainly ones that somehow relate to gothic fashion - things like Steampunk, Lolita or just generally people that live interesting lives and know how to use a camera without making me gag :P

Favourite Make up Brand?

Medusa's Make up is definitely my favourite. When it comes to glitter and eyeshadow it's the first place I go. Though I also like Sugarpill and Manic Panic for foundation and eyelashes.

Favourite Clothing Brand?

Gallery Serpentine. I love their clothes SO much, but unfortunately they are rather pricey. Other than them the stand out would be F+F.

Indispensable make up product?

Manic Panic's Virgin Powder Foundation - or as I like to call it, "Gettin' mi'pale on". Other than that it would be my glitter :D

Favourite colour?

Take one guess :P Eeet ain' no them therrr rawkett sirjury :P (That's me getting my bogan and/or hillbilly on.)

Favourite Perfume?

I only have one, but Ultimate Goth Guide has given me some ideas for my next one! I use Live by Jennifer Lopez.

Favourite Film?

Hmm..That's a hard one...Probably Moliere or Sweeney Todd.

What country would you like to visit and why?

Germany, like my tagger :P. I know basic German, and one of my best friends lives around there (though he has identity issues with France/Germany so I dunno) and yeah, as she said the festivals, the architecture, the cold weather <3

Would you rather forget to put mascara on one eye or forget blush on one side of your face?

Blush, because I don't wear that much; just enough to define my cheekbones a little. I don't think it'd be that missed, whereas I wear a shit tonne of mascara.

So, now for the tagging:

Gergh, a lot of my favourite blogs have already been tagged, so not 7 today my friends.

I choooo chooo chooose:

Things To Smile About

She knows why I love her blog :P Because I know her, and I love her photos.

Candyophobia

Sheridan is so cool, gah I wish I knew her in real life. And she's a machine with he posting - like 50 times a day! So I always have something good to read when I get home.

Darker Fashions

I love this blog, and the only reason I don't comment on every post is because I'd always be saying the same thing, that is "Oh I agree with everything you just said, what were they thinking?" And I think that may get a little mundane :P

Turn On Your Brain, Baby

Howdy folks, hope you're all well! Before I begin today I'd just like to mention that I got another follower yesterday, so now I'm up to 17! It's very exciting for me! So thank you! :D

Anyway, I finally got around to taking a crap load of photos of most of the recent editions to my accessories collection obtained at Worn Wild late last year in Sydney, in my Christmas trip to Coffs Harbour or just randomly off the net that I haven't posted about yet. Oh and this is quite a pic heavy post, so sorry if your net is slow..like mine :P

This cute little clip was on sale at a nice little boutique here in Orange called 'The Road to Cinnabar'. I think it was around $10

These sunnies my good friend Todd gave me when I stayed with him on the weekend I visited Worn Wild. He saw them and apparently thought I had to have them :) Thanks Todd!

These awesome Frank Hair toggle thingos I got at Victorian Gothic in Melbourne.

This cuthulu clip I got at Worn Wild, however I can't remember which stall sorry :( I think it was $10

This cog is rather large, it's like...The size of my hand. I got it from Steampunk Couture for $6. There are several different styles and sizes available from memory.

This ring/bracelet combo I was given on the weekend from my good friend Gracie as a belated Christmas gift. I love them so much!

This collar I got from the In Visible Light stall at Worn Wild. It was $20

This clip I got on etsy a little while ago

This facinator I got from Madame Pompedour in Melbourne. It was $25

This gorgeous facinator I got from the Dusk Moth Designs stall at Worn Wild. It was $30. I love the little bird in it sooo much and the large feather matches the dye I use for the ends of my hair perfectly!

This top hat I got at a nice little store tucked away in an arcade in Coffs Harbour called Edwards Modern Vintage. It was $80.

This headband I also got from the In Visible Light stall at Worn Wild. It was $30. It's a bit hard to see on the photos but it has a layer of netting to cover the face on the front, and several pieces of lace that cascade down the hair at the back. The feathers and little clock-flower thing sit to one side at the top of the head.

Well that's about all I can be bothered doing tonight as I'm quite sleepy. Hope you enjoyed reading/ looking at the pictures, because there wasn't really that much to read this time 'round :P

Over and out! :D

Dreadful

So I've never thought that cyberlox or dreadfalls would suit me. However, after I found out a good friend of mine, Jess has started making her own dreads through her business Opiate Dreads, I began to re-think my assumption. Lucky for me, Jess offered me a very good price to make a set of dreads as she was just trying to get her business off the ground and build up her portfolio. I received them not long before I went on holidays, and only got around to taking some proper photos of them this evening.

And here they are! I'm really fond of them :)

And yes I will be adding some photos of them on me, however I want to wait till I'm dressed up for an event so as to actually do them justice. So, expect to see these next month after I travel to my old uni stomping grounds in the 'Berra to see Jess, her boyfriend Nick and Tea when I attend Chrome :D As well as visiting some old uni buddies and what not.

What do you guys think?

Also Black Waterfall have added a few more sterotypes since my last visit as a friend informed me of today on facefail. Although my image below doesn't show them (because I couldn't find one of these tagging things with the new additions) Faerie and Tribal goth have been tacked on the end :P

I was thinking about what I would be...My friend tagged me on facefail as Victorian Goth, which I agree with in part, because most of my clothes are victoriana. However, I think I have definitely have elements of Steampunk goth and some small Faerie goth quirks as well as some perky goth accessories, Deathrocker hawk and cybergoth boots and music tastes..Hmm I'd be glad for imput here :P Though I like the idea I don't fit in any one category, I do hope you my readers agree :P

What about you guys, where do you fit in?

Ch-ch-ch-changes

What do we all think of the new layout and banner?

Bit egotistical? Yeah... :P

Thank Science That's Over...

By that I mean 2010. I think a lot of you who read this would know, either through it effecting yourselves, or through previous posts that 2010 hasn't been the greatest year in both my life, and that of my close friends. So without going into any more detail, you can imagine I'll be glad to see the back of 2010; and boy am I.

So fuck you 2010, and bring on 2011!

I rang in the new year up in Port Macquarie with my friend 'Fish', whom I met at uni early in 2010.

We drank a bit :P

before heading out to the local carnival to watch a few fireworks and have a go on the rides,

before heading off to a nice Cocktail Cafe joint called Fig where Fish treated me to a few Vanilla Russians :-D They were sooooo good. Thanks Fish!

Quickly before I move on I'll just mention that my green and Black pants were from Lip Service, my purple waistcoat is from Cue, the brooch is from Tentacle Threads and the Jabot is from FanPlusFriend.

Anyway, so now onto my plans for 2011;

1. Live every day for George.
2. Move to Melbourne
3. Stop spending money on non-necessities
4. Buy new SLR and lenses in preparation for Uni
5. Get together a portfolio
6. Tell my friends I love them more often
7. Go on a date
8. Actually talk to someone I'm crushing on, as opposed to facefail stalking them :P
9. Make a new friend
10. Get back in the saddle (literally, I haven't ridden in two years!)
11. Go back to reading a book a week
12. Kiss someone in a romantic manner whilst sober
13. Become more active
14. Attempt to keep my room tidier
15. Watch more anime (as long as it doesn't interfere with life :P)
16. Get a new hairstyle
17. Adopt a cat (if my family will ever let me!)
18. Be a bit more adventurous with food
19. Eat less takeaway food
20. Get a sleep routine happening

Okay, well we have some exciting posts coming up when it comes to new additions so keep your eyes peeled!

Oh and I'd like to welcome the new followers! Woo 14!

Okay, nighty night
