15

So the Ultimate Goth Guide tagged me in one of these random fact thingos, in which I'm s'pose to mention 15 facts and tag 5 other bloggers. I don't think I know 5 other bloggers that would re-post this, but I'll give it a go anyway.

Here goessss

1. Going with the theme of my blog; I know I'm a goth and all, but I don't like Bauhaus or Siouxsie and the banshees >_> (Please don't kill me!)

2. I'm a super taster; see the wikipedia page if you don't know what this entails.

3. I'm currently obsessed with Bleach, having been watching on average about 10 episodes a day whilst being away ^_^ and i just bought the 3rd season!

<3<3<3<3byakuya

4. When I was young I won a drawing competition and the prize was a Where's Wally watch. I adored it, but unfortunately it was stolen one day whilst I was at Karate lessons :(

5. I also won a ride in a Lamborghini when I was young :D It was fun, and also convenient because at the time I was obsessed with the Cannonball Run movies, which depict Lambos in them.

6. I was a stable-hand for about 5 years, and used to horse ride competitively. However, I was always much better at breaking horses in then competing. My riding instructor I think called me a horse whisperer once or twice :p

7. I'm terrified of Sharks and Wolves,

and the idea that they could be genetically spliced to make some sort of concoction that could attack me on land.

I also can't listen to Peter and the Wolf without screaming and freaking out. My year 2 band teacher traumatised me by forcing me to watch a cartoon about Peter and the Wolf with the music all the way through it. *shivers*

8. I'm fatally allergic to Iodine. Anaphylaxis isn't fun kids!

9. The hate the colour Pink with a passion.

10. I'm a really REALLY bad dancer. Like, it's embarrassing to watch. When I'm drunk though, I think I'm Fred Astair :P That is why recently I've been looking at this site and practising :P

11. I'm not really bothered when bad singers belt out a few lines of a song or what not, but for some reason that I just can't put my finger on it drives me INSANE when my mum sings. Like, I just can't bare it. I scream at her to shut up and/or leave the room. It's really odd :P

12. I can't wait to move to Melbourne next year plus starting at RMIT in 2012! (hopefully!) :D

13. I've been single for 5 years. I'm starting to think, I'm either a bigger bitch than I originally thought, or my standards might be a bit too high :P

14. I'm a bigger Star Trek fan than you.

I've been watching it as long as I can remember, I've seen every episode of every series a bazillion times and I never get sick of it. EVER. <3 It was the highlight of the month when dad would bring home the latest release VHS tape when I was a kid.

15. I check facebook and my email...It must be at least 50 times a day :P

Okay, so I shall tag...

I've been too naughty, I forgot to be nice

Merry Christmas everyone! Or if that doesn't apply, insert whatever you wish there instead! I hope everyone had a good holiday, or for those overseas folks I s'pose you've still got quite a bit of it left, if it's started at all :P. It's about an hour till Christmas is over here, and so come the Boxing Day sales! They probably won't effect me too much, however I'm a bit torn when it comes to what to do with the money I received as my predominant Christmas present. I'm unsire as to whether I should put it away for saving towards my new 5D MkII that I want, or spurge and buy a pair of Doc Martens (for some reason I still don't own a pair :S) Anyway, I hopefully will make up my mind soon enough.

I know a lot of people for whom Christmas is a huge event, however at my house it's never had a whole lot of importance placed on it. In fact, over the past few years it seems to be dying out, and I'm quite sure that in the near future we as a family may not even celebrate it at all. Although my family is Catholic, or was brought up that way anyway, I'm certainly not a believer, and neither is the generation of my parents and their siblings. I think the main reason we still have been celebrating this long is for my Grandmother, and out of habit really.

Anyway, moving on to more exciting things like photos and discussion of presents :P. I didn't really get a large array of presents this year. Like I said, I received some money and in addition a few small things that I, and I presume most people get at Chrissie, essentials like underwear, pjs, socks etc. So other than those, I also got me a nice make up bag with BRUSHES from my auntie, uncle and cousins, which is glorious. I can finally organise my eyeshadows and glitters! Hurrah! Mum also bought me a new camera battery charger before we left for Coffs. Last but not least, I got me this awesome little glitter lava-lamp style thingo that I spotted in some lighting and homewares store the other day on a bargain bench. It was only like 20 bucks, and I was gonna buy it but Mum pushed in at the last minute :D I've got some photos that you'll see further on (and please excuse my artistic license :P I was really bored today).

Anyway, I also decided to do a lazy version of an outfit post. There's no photos of me directly, mainly because I couldn't find anything to sit the camera on in Nanna's yard, and I unfortunately didn't bring my tripod (dammit!). So here goes, I've focussed on details:

This is a little brooch I bought at Worn Wild a few weekends ago in Sydney at the Tentacle Threads stall. It's super cute, unfortunately the little guy finds it a bit hard to keep his chains and pearl straight when attached to my weirdo jabot. - $30

This awesome ring I purchased at Victorian Gothic in Melbourne on my recent trip down. I think it's meant to be a miniature sextet or something, and the little dial thing moves! - $80

This locket, which I haven't really taken off since I got it will now be a permenant part of my wardrobe, therefore I felt it needed a mention. A bunch of us ordered them and had them engraved as a way to keep the memories of our late friend, Georgie and her beautiful sister Bella close to our hearts at all times.
It's very special to me <3

Isabella Bolero from Gallery Serpentine in gold tafetta trim. I know none of these are good pictures, as they just of the sleeves really, but there's one on the product's link here. I was wearing it and decided it was too cold at the time to take it off :P - $180 (It's a custom size so it was a bit more expensive).

I thought I'd actually take some nice photos of my favourite heels, my TUK gun slingers, I think they're called. Never before has my personality been captured in a pair of shoes so perfectly. :P

I just thought I'd also mention the new books I bought, as intelligence is just as much a part of style as any other factor :P. I finally bought that Alastiar Reynolds book, because I never actually got to finish it and borrowed it from the library like...3 times :P And Lian Hearn wrote the Tale of the Otori for those of you who don't know, a series of books of which I was obsessed with for some time. :P

And here's a picture of me and the awesome glitter lamp! I turned it on in the hallway early this evening and it lit the whole thing up with an eerie green light that reminded me of a Borg ship :P This was one of the better shots, and I'm edited a few more (ZOMG I finally have photoshop again! Thank science!) at the moment, but I'll upload a few more so you can see the awesome effect it had on the hallway :D

Hope you enjoyed reading/just looking at the pictures (don't be ashamed, I do it too, all the time!)

Over and out and Happy Holidays dearies!

Like a death-ray

Howdy y'all, this be my first on-location post from Coffs Harbour, and the beginning of what I expect to be a whinge-fest about the copious amounts of sun and how the >25 degree days clash with my favourite outfits.

Anyway, yesterday my family and I visited the shopping hub of this here metropolis and so I goth'd up for the first time. Was kind'a fun seeing all the jaws dropping (yes they literally dropped! One guy even ran into a pole because he turned to do a double-take!) So far I haven't encountered any rude persons, unlike the general populous in Orange. This is probably because from what I can gather, most are still at a loss for words seeing someone that doesn't look like a chewed up piece of leather with a dirty yellow mop on top of their head. And while we're on the topic of surfies, I saw a ridiculously tanned one. I felt like going up to him and offering to check his moles for signs of melanoma.

A girl at WOW (speaking of which, how freakin' awesome is their anime dvd section?!) complimented me, said I looked very stylish and that she'd never seen green hair before :P. The shopping options were pretty disappointing, but I'm hoping to visit Bellingen at some point before I head off to my friend's place in Port Macquarie for new years. On the way there I saw a sign for a butterfly house, which I vaguely remember visiting when I was a kid. I don't know if they allow photography or not but it'd be really awesome I expect if they did!

Anyway, I know writing is boring, so here are a few pics to keep those (like me) with short attention spans interested:

The new UV reactive contacts I bought at Worn Wild when I was in Sydney a bit over a week ago. I also bought a pair of white ones!

My attempt at 'goth'ing up my room here.

Some shells I collected whilst on a walk on the beach with my Mum.

'Grandpa's Whiskers' has always been my favourite plant in Nanna's garden, however after getting a massive lecture on ticks from my Mum, I'm terrified of getting close to any greenery.

Piece of wood from the broken 'Barbie'. No sausages for Stephie it seems :(

Me attempting to be cool like Grace :P

These mad purple-leaved plants

Wearing:

Eliza shirt from Gallery Serpentine in black cotton - $145
Green Pearls from Madame Pompadour in Melbourne - $18
Signature Absinthe spoon that came free with a bottle of Green Fairy - free :P
Verne the clay octopus from Monster Kookies - $50 (and worth every penny<3)

I really liked this one, even though I cut off my lips :P Doing a selfie is hard with a 50mm fixed lens, okay!

Here's a couple of better shots of the contacts, though my pupils are contracted because of the sunlight, so they look a bit odd.

Here's a close up of my hair, I changed my mixing formula for this holiday as I wanted to avoid having to re-dye it if I could, so I made it a bit darker than usual. I don't mind it.

My nan was having a bitch about me never smiling in my pictures, so here you are! *Holds up middle finger behind back*

This one's my favourite, I know it's a bit over-exposed, but I still like it :)

That's all for today, I'm off to catch up with an old friend from school this afternoon, might take the ol' camera along if I feel like it.

Over and out

Pierced Off

So actually, I am a little peeved today because people have just generally been rude and horrid and as far as I can perceive, for completely no reason. But, I thought to cheer me up (in addition to the 9 cans of energy drinks I bought myself ^_^) I would post a new blog update.

So, on the weekend just gone I went to Sydney to see some friends, attend a 21st for my lovely friend Mel and to check out Worn Wild. So I had an utter blast, crashed at my friend Todd's place (thanks dearest!) and *drum roll* visited Polymorph in Newtown for my first facial piercing!

So I got my septum done, which I just randomly decided a week ago or so I wanted. I'd been tossing up for a while whether or not to get a facial piercing, and then I decided to get one but had to decide between a medusa or a septum variety. So I finally decided on the septum because they're easy to hide if need be, and if I decided I didn't like it you can't exactly tell that it's been done with the hole being up inside your nose and all.

Here's a pic of me on Saturday night with Pat, Todd's significant other:

Please disregard how gross my hair is, it was stinking hawt in Sydney and goths and heat don't really mix...well, Steph at least doesn't mix well with heat...ergh

Aaaand here I am at the train station about 10 minutes after it was done, sorry about the crapness of the photo, it was taken on my phone.

I wasn't really sure that I was the kind of person that had facial piercings; that they would suit me, you know? And I guess I'm still not really sure about it, but I promised myself I'd give it at least 6 weeks before I made my decision, so yeah still a while to go, and it may still grow on me.

What do y'all think?

Also, Worn Wild was pretty fun; though I guess I was a little disappointed at the size of the event considering my imagination had conjured this massive story-upon-story event with people everywhere and mountains upond mountains of stuff to buy. There were only a few stalls, and few I was actually interested in. There seemed to be a lot of tacky pvc-wear, which I'm not all that fond of as I can;t see my chub-tacular figure looking any good in, and a lot of run of the mill boring things I could buy anywhere. However there were a few pieces I got that I love which I will post pictures of and descibe in detail next week when I shall be posting on location in COFFS HARBOUR!

...Yeah so it didn't at all earn the caps but yeah..holiday for christmas, and hopefully my back will recover from the two weeks off work. Plus, I'll hopefully have a pre-paid wireless broadband connection up there so I'll be able to actually take new pics and post them in high def rather than stealing crap quality pics others have uploaded of me off failbook. I thought the free time might be nice for me to do a few makeup tutorials, which I never seem to get time to do nowadays, because I'm always in a rush doing my makeup because I'm the world's best procrastinator. And, I might take the items I bought on the weekend with me and lay them on the beach, and they can have their own exotic little photoshoot like some bronzed model...except, you know...way better and more pleasing to look at :P Stupid tans being fashionable, they're so ugly and common and unhealthy! I swear, if I get skin cancer it will be some sort of fucked up miracle, because I hiss at the sun..like..literally...Evil bitch... :P

Anyway, enough of my bitching about the sun. Oh and another reason I'll be doing the photos of them up there is because I've lost my battery charger for my SLR and it's currently dead as the proverbial doornail.

I'll leave you now with a pic from the Bohemian Masquerade Ball which I went to a few months ago during my internet blackout (I think anyway). I just remembered this photo existed and so it's currently my profile pic and I love it! The event, which I promise I'll discuss in detail one day :P, was sponsored by Green Fairy Absinthe, so (how exciting!) for the night I became the toast of the town, and the event's mascot if you will.

Here we are:

Over and out my lovely readers :)

Let the children lose it, let the children use it, let all the children boogie...

So I went to my good chum, Gracie's 21st last night with the theme 'Come as a song'. I went as 'Starman' by David Bowie, because I'm a massive Bowie fan :P. Anyway as anyone that knows me in real life, I'm also OBSESSED with glitter. I draw my eyebrows with glitter, I use it for eyeliner, put it in my hair sometimes and my handbag is full of the stuff from leaking canisters, so pretty much everything I own that's been in my bag at one point or another has flecks of the light-catching stuff on it :P So I tried a bit of a space-ee-themed look with my makeup and I thought I'd share 'cause I thought it was a bit rad. Oh and keep in mind, the rest of my costume had fallen off by the time the piccies were taken :)

I think that's the best eyebrow I've ever drawn, so I insisted it be acknowledged :P

Myself and Mr Clinton.

In the last two you can see my new Jenni Gloves from Naucler Design. They took FOREVER to arrive, but they're super cute!

99% of my cosmetic glitter is from Medusa's Makeup, that particular shade I believe is called .44 Magnum and the lashes are from Manic Panic.

That's all folks :)
